I've got most of the horse cut out now. I've started some of the shaping and sanding. I need to get some darker wood to use for the hooves and saddle.

But I'm more than just scroll sawing - Wife and Mom to 4 kids - the typical Soccer Mom until we got rid of the van. I was a forester until the late 1990's when I left the workforce to stay home with the kids when our youngest was born. Now, I work with a research company and at making/selling my crafts.

Thank you! No - I haven't figured out the gem yet. I'm thinking a mix of black wood behind either the bloodwood, or the yellow wood (satinwood). Do you have any suggestions?? :)
